ANNETTE KIM, Founder

Annette Kim, founder of Nomad Espresso Bar in North Vancouver is no stranger to the world of coffee. Her journey started in 2015, when she opened “Bean VGH” at Vancouver General Hospital… to be followed in 2019 with the opening of “Bean-on-5th” in Lower Lonsdale.

At Bean-on-5th, she implemented numerous initiatives to encourage her customers + staff to reduce/reuse/recycle. Over 3 years, this location has reduced its landfill waste by 95%. In 2021, Annette won the Living City Award from the City of North Vancouver in recognition of her contribution to Environmental Sustainability.

NOMAD COFFEE is Annette’s third location. It represents her next step to impact the way we consume coffee and baked goods. Her objective is for NOMAD COFFEE to become North Vancouver’s first “No Single Cup” coffee shop and to influence the coffee shop industry's next generation. Annette's long-term goal is to support CNV’s 100 Year Sustainability Vision for a zero-carbon future.

She has established the NOMAD mission statement:

“Challenge Today, Change Tomorrow”
