What’s Brewing at Nomad (feat. Monogram)

There’s a lot happening at Nomad this August.

From our current house espresso to a week dedicated to Gesha coffees and an upcoming AeroPress Championship, it’s a busy month for coffee lovers across Vancouver. Here’s what we’re brewing and what’s coming up at Nomad.

Our Current Espresso: Daterra

We’re currently brewing Daterra as our main espresso at Nomad.

Based in Brazil’s Cerrado region, Daterra has spent decades pushing coffee forward through quality, innovation, and sustainable farming. The farm is divided into more than 200 individual plots, allowing each coffee to be harvested at the right moment and giving the team incredible control over quality and flavour.

Daterra is also a coffee we have a long-standing relationship with. Our team has visited the farm many times over the years, seeing firsthand the care that goes into both the coffee and the land.

For us, great coffee is about more than what’s in the cup. That’s why we’re also proud to support Daterra’s Tree_llion initiative, with a portion from every bag of Daterra supporting their global reforestation efforts.

Gesha Week at Nomad Kitsilano

We’re also celebrating one of coffee’s most iconic varieties with Gesha Week at Nomad Kitsilano.

Gesha coffees are known for their distinctive floral aromas, complex fruit character, and incredible clarity. Throughout the week, we’re highlighting Gesha coffees and giving our community a chance to experience what makes this variety so special.

AeroPress Championship at Nomad Kitsilano

And there’s more coming up.

On August 27, Nomad Kitsilano will host the Canadian AeroPress Championship, bringing competitors and coffee enthusiasts together for an evening of creativity, competition, and community.

The event will feature 27 competitors, with coffee professionals and enthusiasts coming together to see what they can create with one of coffee’s most accessible brewing methods.

We’re excited to welcome Vancouver’s coffee community to Nomad Kitsilano for an evening centred around great coffee, friendly competition, and a lot of experimentation.
