Continuum Coffee - Kainamui - Kenya

$27.00

This washed lot comes to us from Kainamui washing station, which is one of three stations affiliated with the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society located in Kirinyaga County. The society is well known for production of high quality coffee and was recognized by the coffee research institute for attaining the highest points in the Kenya national taste of harvest competition. This lot consists exclusively of peaberries, which are the result of a natural mutation in the coffee cherry and occur in only approximately 5% of all coffee and must be sorted out during the screen grading stage of dry milling.  Peaberries are known for their small, round shape, and many people find peaberries to have a sweeter flavour profile.

When we drink this coffee we think of...
red currant, green apple, lime, clove

Origin: Kirinyaga
Variety: SL28, Batian, Ruiru-11
Elevation: 1,500-1,800 masl
Process: Washed
