Gesha Week 2 at Nomad Coffee: A Limited Pour-Over Experience in Vancouver
Discover exceptional Gesha coffees from around the world, brewed to order as pour-overs at Nomad Coffee in Vancouver. Available for a limited time, while supplies last.
For Gesha Week 2, Nomad Coffee is bringing a curated selection of exceptional Gesha coffees to Vancouver, available exclusively as pour-over coffee for a limited time.
Throughout the week, guests can choose from a rotating lineup of Geshas from respected producers and roasteries across Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica. Each coffee offers a completely different expression of the Gesha variety, from vibrant tropical fruit and florals to black tea, chocolate, and delicate sweetness.
There’s no set end date for Gesha Week. Once the available coffee is sold out, the experience is over.
If you’ve never tried a Gesha before, this is an opportunity to experience one of the world’s most celebrated coffee varieties. And if you already know and love Gesha, it’s a chance to taste several exceptional coffees side by side, all brewed fresh as pour-overs at Nomad.
What Is Gesha Coffee?
There’s a reason Gesha commands the kind of reverence usually reserved for fine wine.
Originally discovered growing wild in the forests of Ethiopia, the Gesha coffee variety eventually made its way to Panama, where it remained relatively unknown for decades. That changed in 2004, when a coffee from Hacienda La Esmeralda stunned the specialty coffee world and helped redefine what coffee could taste like.
Since then, Gesha has become one of the most sought-after coffee varieties in specialty coffee.
Gesha plants are often low-yielding and demanding to cultivate, requiring careful attention throughout the growing, harvesting, processing, and roasting stages. When produced well, Gesha is known for remarkable flavour clarity, floral aromas, vibrant fruit, and tea-like sweetness.
For many coffee drinkers, it can be an entirely different way of experiencing coffee.
Why Are We Serving Gesha as Pour-Over?
Pour-over brewing allows us to highlight the characteristics that make each Gesha unique.
Unlike a milk-based drink or a traditional espresso preparation, pour-over coffee gives the individual flavours, aromas, acidity, sweetness, and texture of the coffee more room to shine.
Each Gesha is brewed to order and served as a 140 ml pour-over, allowing you to slow down and explore the coffee at your own pace.
Each pour-over also comes with a bottle of sparkling water to refresh your palate between sips and help you experience the finer details of each coffee.
Whether you're new to specialty coffee or already a Gesha enthusiast, we encourage you to take your time, ask questions, and compare the different coffees.
