Inside SCA World of Coffee: The Beans Nomad Couldn't Leave Behind
Last week, the Nomad team headed to Brussels for SCA World of Coffee. It's one of the biggest coffee events in the world, where roasters, producers, and baristas from everywhere come together to share what's new in the industry and pour beans from every corner of the globe.
Why we never skip SCA
We make it a point to show up to SCA every year. It's simple really, we just want to bring better quality coffee and more variety of beans to Vancouver, and this is where we find it. Back at SCA San Francisco, our own Annette actually gave a talk on sustainability, and this trip to Brussels was another step in that same journey.
What we found in Brussels
At the show, we got to taste a bunch of single origin beans that are honestly hard to come by in Vancouver. Every origin brings something different, the processing method, the varietal, the roast profile, and it's amazing how much of a story is packed into one cup. A few of these really stood out to us, so we picked them up and brought them home.
Starting July 7th at Kitsilano
Now it's time to share what we brought back. Starting July 7th, we're rolling out a much bigger pour over lineup at Nomad Kitsilano. These are the beans we hand carried from Brussels, each one with its own acidity, body, and flavor, and we'll be rotating through them so there's always something new to try.
We're keeping the exact lineup under wraps for now, it'll be announced on our Instagram soon, so stay tuned!
Pour over is really the best way to taste what a bean is actually about, all those subtle notes that get lost in an espresso shot. If you're into coffee, this is a good excuse to try something you haven't had before.
Come say hi
We're always going to keep chasing good coffee and bringing that experience back to share with you. Come by Kitsilano on July 7th for your first taste of what we brought back from Brussels.
